New Line of Make n Paint Your Own!

0 comments — posted 2020 May by Don Olney

Have been working on a new line of do it yourself kits.  All are being sized to fit in the small Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes, and all are going to include Free Shipping in the US!  Planning on most of  these kits to be priced at $30.  Some may need to end up costing more, but we want to provide some at home activities for you and your family at a price that is affordable, but will also make us a little money in this season of cancelled craft shows, and closed stores.

The first kit is available now - a kit to create 12 spinning tops, complete with a signed copy of Don's Little Book of Tops while our supply lasts.  Will probably create some kits with parts to make more tops, but until then, e-mail us if you want more parts and we will work out something?  Topman@rochester.rr.com, or click on the contact us link above!

Working on kits to make 8" tall versions of some of our figures, and even working on a coloring book idea.  Contact us with any ideas!

Not sure why the photo of the kit is not showing, but click on the photo at the right to see it.

Custom

We do lots of custom work. Sometimes it is a simple as making one of our regular figures, but it the specific colors you want. Sometimes you want one of our figures to fit in a particular spot, and the standard 15" or 29" versions are just not right – you need one that is 19" – we can do that. Maybe you need one that is six feet tall?? We can do that.

Maybe you want to raise some money for your favorite organization? We can make 50 pins for you at wholesale pricing, and you can sell them – keeping the difference.

Maybe you want to create some special gifts for people who have done special things for your church, scout troop, or other civic organization? We can do that too!

We recently provided table favors for the NY State African Violet Convention - the theme was Violets at the Oscars, so small (4" tall) gold painted oscars were designed and delivered!

Here is a grouping of three of our newest figures together as a dancing group! This is a single piece – the ladies are attached to each other as a single wall piece. You can order them separately. For now, click on the “Contact us directly” link for pricing, etc.

A few new dance figures posted today. We make more, so this is just the beginning. As always, please contact us with any questions, custom order requests, suggestions, etc. We love to work with you on fund raising possibilities for your group, or on custom donor gifts or awards. Our pieces are a lot more fun than getting another one of those etched brass or plexi awards from the trophy shop or the custom kiosk in the mall!

Below is picture of an award we recently made for Communities in Schools of Detroit.

Trunk Show at The Kennedy Center

Well, we’re back home. Above is a picture of our booth at The Kennedy Center on Sunday afternoon. We had modest sales because well over half of the audience could not make it through the snowed in streets of the Washington DC area. We had a lovely drive home on Monday between the storms. Here in Rochester, we just have a nice pleasant dusting of snow that a nice stiff broom removes with ease!

Our hearts go out to the folks doing the Buyer’s Market of American Crafts show this weekend. This is our first year of not doing this show, but many of our friends are there with high hopes, and the airport closed! Jewelry preview tonight, and the show opens tomorrow. Hopefully most of the gallery and store owners will make it in sometime over the weekend! The following banner appears over the opening page of the show web site…..

The Buyers Market of American Craft WILL open as scheduled on Friday, February 12. The Jewelry Preview will take place on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.

This is an experimental e-commerce page. It is functional, but I don’t know if I will be blogging here or not.
